Hi Again!
By self-fabric cap I mean a little hat made from another sock. It doesn’t even need to be sewn on- and you defintely don’t need to cut the orginal fabric of the head.
I have never tried to cut off a hand or foot and replace them. It could probably be done. In that case I’d try to wash them first and if it didn’t work- then replace them.

Oh I see thanks so mcuh for explaining. So if there heads are too dirty you cover them over? You dont cut off theh original sock right?
Also can you see stiches after you recover the head?

If there hands and feet were dirty do you cut them off and add fresh white one’s?

For Julia, I was unable to save her original arms and had to craft new ones. She was very sun faded and there was no way to match the color exactly. It took three tries to get it even close. Her tail was repairable so it matches.

As far as stains go- it sort of depends. If it is a new monkey then I will go ahead and try and wash it. If its a really old monkey then most often I will not get them wet at all. I have found the Tide stain pen works on some spots.
For Julia, I made her a traditional self-fabric cap from the same sock as her new arms. That covered the spot on her head nicely. I didn’t have it on for the photo.

Nice!
The arms look to be a different color though. Yet the tail is the same color.
Also are you able to make the head white again or do you have to leave that stin on it? What would it take to get that stain out?
