Seems forever since I got a new monkey out the door, but she was worth the wait!

I love the hair. :)

How did you get the hair to look like that? How do you attach yarn to the sock? =/ without it looking tacky?

    Hi Yazmin,
I make a wig from the yarn first. To do that I wrap the yarn around a piece of cardboard the right length then use masking tape to hold it together and sew through the center of all the yarn and the tape. After you sew through the yarn (a few times) then you can tear away the tape. Then you sew through the yarn on at the seam. Hope that helps! :)

That helps tons!!! Thanx, so much! I have another questions…how do you get your mouths so round and stretched out? Do you use the heel, or some other fabric? Do you sew the eyes and ears on before, or after, stuffing the body?

    Thanx, again!

  • Tamara says:

    Glad I could help!
Yes, I do use the heel of the sock.
I make the mouth piece very large with a lot of margin around the white. I pin the bottom – then sew it and yeah I do stretch it out to be round and sorta smiley.
After I sew the bottom, I stuff it and then sew across the top.

    Have a great day!
